Updates and Setbacks

Happy 2017! It’s here at last.

I’m still working at the whole “Let’s get famous,” “Let’s get a book/movie deal” goal, but I’m still here. The proverbial “they” say that half of the battle is keeping on, even when you’re down, and keep asking even if the last several hundred answers were “no.” So I’m a little more than half way there, right?

In 2016, I did think I had a pretty good finish. I’m down about 15 pounds (still have some ways to go there, thanks to the baby weight), and I got up to 10 books out. I’m happy with that.

I’m even happier, because my 11th book was just released – and it was the last book in my first series, The Starlight Chronicles. So 2017 is off to a good start, too. As always, Amazon is the best place to see my new books. It’s so much prettier there.

2016 did have its share of setbacks.

I had to get a new computer after tea was spilled all over my other one. I can sit through a sad movie in more control of myself than when my computer gets drenched. I wrote a lot, and I wrote more in my books than in here.

I’m learning how to market myself better. I’m far from being done with that, unfortunately. I wish I lived in a world where I could be staring off into space and someone would be frantically taking pictures, but I know that’s not the case. And probably a good thing. My neighborhood police patrol gets enough phone calls from me.

I had to give up caffeine. Doctor’s recommendation. True story – good thing I’m not much of a horror writer, right?

2017 has been pretty good so far. Here’s hoping it’ll get even better!

All my best to you,

C. S. Johnson
